Data access and management provider Lantronix has announced it has joined the Microsoft Azure Certified Internet of Things program.
The program accelerates IoT solutions that are pre-tested and verified to work with Microsoft Azure IoT services, which benefit businesses to reach their clientele where they are, working with an ecosystem of devices and platforms expediting production.
Lantronix’s solutions, such as the SGX 5150 – a dual-band Wi-Fi IoT device gateway supporting the 802.11ac standard with enterprise security – is being used in a wide range of applications in the manufacturing, retail, medical and transportation sectors. Now, as Lantronix has joined the Azure IoT programme, the company is accelerating and simplifying the integration of rugged edge IoT connectivity solutions in today’s IIoT applications.
The SGX 5150 gateway will make it easy and quick for manufacturers, utilities, healthcare providers, government agencies and other customers to deploy completely integrated edge to cloud connectivity and management solutions to digitalise their processes via real-time access to machine data.
“Through this collaboration with Microsoft, we are working to deliver a more integrated edge to cloud solution,” said Shahram Mehraban, vice president of marketing at Lantronix. “Decreasing the usual customisation and work required for compatibility helps our customers get started quickly on their industrial IoT solution.”
Microsoft has been looking at various partnerships in this sector. In April, it was announced that Azure-based services will be offered by secure edge-to-enterprise IoT connectivity provider Electric Imp’s platform, in order to make quick IoT deployments on public and private clouds. In July, Microsoft released Windows 10 IoT Core Services, which allows solutions running on Windows 10 IoT Core t be commercialised and companies to create long-term business models for ongoing value.
